Like mother, like child.
“Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has more than a baby on the way.
She’s also looking forward to the spring debut of a companion collection of infant and children’s slippers produced by footwear licensing partner Goshen, Ky.-based Happy Feet. The series of styles will retail for $15 and will be available on Snookislippers.com.
According to Happy Feet owner Pat Yates, whose company has been producing Snooki adult slippers since spring ’11, the collection will be available primarily on on the brand’s website.
“We’re trying to expand our overall retail footing,” he said, “but her name hasn’t [gained] retail traction yet. [Stores] don’t believe it can appeal to the masses.”
Although the retail community may still be skeptical about the potential of the collection, Yates is continuing to build the franchise.

He emphasized that the reality star is hands-on when it comes to design. “She’s extremely involved in the development,” said Yates. “She’s extremely particular. She didn’t just sign and walk away. She’s involved in every facet, from the website design to the slippers.”
