Boston-based City Sports named Edward Albertian to the post of president and CEO, according to a company release. He assumes the role previously held by Jeff Connor, who resigned last month.
Albertian joins City Sports after serving for seven years as COO of the Trans National Group in Boston. Prior to that, he was president and COO of C&S Wholesale Grocers.
The addition of Albertian follows a year of growth for the company, which launched four new retail locations over the past 12 months.
Tom Stemberg, managing general partner of Boston-based Highland Consumer Fund, an investor in City Sports, said, “Ed Albertian is a proven retail veteran with an impressively stellar track record, and we are thrilled to add such a dynamic and success-oriented leader to the City Sports team.”
