Add her name to the growing list of reality stars trying their hands at footwear design. Kristin Cavallari — of MTV’s “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” fame — continues her collaboration with Chinese Laundry this season, but now as part of the creative team. (She has provided styling tips and posted videos on the brand’s website since last September.) “It’s exciting to go in and sit with the design team and talk about the trends,” Cavallari told Footwear News. “I learned about the whole [creative] process and how it works.” Her finished product, a capsule collection of six to eight leather styles, aptly titled Chinese Laundry by Kristin Cavallari, will debut on the Magic show floor in Las Vegas this week. And designer isn’t her only new role. The starlet became a new mom just this month, giving birth to son Camden Jack. Here, Cavallari offers her fashion and music faves, as well as some much-needed tips for relaxation.
Best way to relax: “I love taking a bath and doing a face mask. I’ll have my own spa session in my bathroom. I scrub my face, put on a mask and get in the bath with music playing.”
Celebrity mom I’d like to have a play date with: “Nicole Richie.”
I don’t mind splurging on… “Purses and a good foundation. I wear Armani.”
Favorite meal out: “Gnocchi is my favorite. I love Italian food.”
My footwear staple is… Classic nude pumps. “They make anyone’s legs look incredibly long with a skirt or dress.”
