Assocalzaturifici Makes More Moves

Changes are underway in the world of Italian footwear.

Following Assocalzaturifici general manager Fabio Aromatici’s recent departure, the manufacturers’ association said recently that Eugenia Girotti will temporarily fill his shoes as GM starting in July. A special Assocalzaturifici board meeting on June 30 also elected Adriano Sartor interim CEO of Anci Servizi, the group that organizes theMicam, Milan’s biannual footwear trade show. Sartor is already CEO of shoe manufacturer Stonefly, which is based in Montebelluna, Italy.

Girotti and Sartor will hold these positions until Assocalzaturifici hires an executive to cover both roles.

“I thank Adriano Sartor, who accepted the position in this transitional phase for Assocalzaturifici,” said Cleto Sagripanti, the association’s president. He added that while the search for Aromatici’s successor continues, Girotti and Sartor will help “further the important internationalization process and renewal that theMicam is undergoing.”

After six years as head of The Micam, Fabio Aromatici is moving on.

The GM of Assocalzaturifici is leaving for a yet-to-be-revealed role.

Eugenia Girotti, who headed up the association’s special projects and training area, will take over for Aromatici in the interim, beginning July 1. An outside agency will soon begin a search for a permanent successor.

“At a time of far-reaching economic and organizational changes like those we have been experiencing in recent years, it is important for us to send messages of continuity and stability,” Cleto Sagripanti, president of Assocalzaturifici, said in a statement.

He added, “Nominating Eugenia Girotti as GM ad interim reflects this will. I’m convinced that, due to her experience and professionalism, our team will successfully pursue the projects the association has in place in Italy and abroad to support businesses.”
