Prince George Sports Start-rite for New Christmas Portrait

Move over, Kate and William.

All eyes were on Prince George this weekend after Kensington Palace released three new portraits of him just in time for Christmas.

George, who seems to be a natural in front of the camera, donned Start-rite’s navy blue “Jo” style, a T-strap look with silver buckles.

“The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George went into one of our retailers and were measured and fitted like any other parent and child,” said Peter Lamble, chairman of Start-rite. “We are delighted that she has selected our footwear for Prince George. The Duchess is renowned for her unique sense of timeless fashion, and with Prince George wearing our shoes it can only continue to enhance our reputation for stylish, quality-fitted footwear.”

Lamble said the brand had racked up major buzz on social media and is seeing an uptick in sales on its website. In addition, retailers have been calling to place more orders for the Jo style, he said.

Prince George is the third generation of the Royal Family to wear Start-rite shoes, according to the brand.

The brand began supplying footwear to the Windsor children in 1955, was granted the Royal warrant by Queen Elizabeth and supplied footwear for Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne.

Start-rite was granted a second Royal warrant by The Prince of Wales in 1989 and supplied footwear for Princes William and Harry.

It has been an action-packed month for the Royals. Read more about the Duke of Cambridge and Kate Middleton’s royal visit style here.
