After five years of selling his men’s shoes at Barneys New York, Christian Louboutin has created a capsule collection for the luxury retailer.
The fall City Collection, which retails for $745 to $1,595, includes nine core styles from Louboutin’s fall ’15 line finished with new materials and colors in celebration of the brand’s continued relationship with Barneys.
The offering includes low- and high-top sneakers, Chelsea and combat boots, as well as lace-up dress shoes. Of course, all of the styles also feature the brand’s signature red soles.
“When I design men’s shoes, I play less with details. It’s more like designing a car, a very strict matter of proportion,” said Louboutin. “Whereas women’s shoes are more dictated by curves, men’s shoes are more dictated by angles.”
Style names include the Greggo cap-toe oxford, Opera loafer, Top Davoil lace-up dress shoe, Armory buckled boot, Ludovic Chelsea boot and Brian lace-up boot. “There are many, many ways to wear these shoes,” Louboutin told The Window Barneys New York.
