Connie Rishwain Exiting Deckers Brands And Ugg Australia

Longtime Deckers Brands leader Connie Rishwain is leaving the company. In a release issued this afternoon, the company announced that Rishwain, president of Ugg Australia and Deckers’ Fashion & Lifestyle Brands, is stepping down to spend more time with her family and pursue other interests.

When reached for additional comment on Rishwain’s departure, Deckers said it was not releasing any other information at this time, including a timeline for her exit and the company’s transition plans.

“It has been an amazing 20 years at Deckers, and I’m so appreciative of having had the chance to work with many of the brightest people in the footwear industry,” said Rishwain in a statement. “After much consideration, I’ve decided that now is the right time to start the next chapter in my life and allow new leadership to further build on the strong foundation we’ve created.”

Rishwain has been with Ugg for many years, in positions ranging from VP of the brand to leading Ugg Australia’s retail sales. In 2003, she took over as president of Ugg and in January 2014 was named president of the lifestyle group at Deckers.

Rishwain helped lead the classic shearling boot brand into an over-a-billion-dollar business, from entering new categories, including home goods, to expanding into more year-round footwear styles. In the past few years, Ugg has achieved other milestones, including the launch of its first global marketing campaign and debuting its first technology-focused concept store outside Washington, D.C.
