Black Friday Deals: What To Know Before You Shop

It seems like Black Friday is as much a part of Thanksgiving as turkey and mashed potatoes now. And with stores kicking off Black Friday earlier and earlier every year, here are the deals and doorbusters you need to know about before you decide whether to venture out or stay inside and click online while eating an extra piece of pumpkin pie.

Amazon.com: Every day in November, the e-tailer will debut a series of deals on its holiday home page, culminating with a special Black Friday week of deals. Sneakers, boots and apparel are part of the ongoing sales. Starting on Friday Nov. 20, the website will feature deals as often as every five minutes, and then, starting on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, it will offer select “Daily Deals” and Lightning Deals. Among the deals are 70 percent off apparel, accessories and footwear. Select New Balance styles are 45 percent off. Select Steve Madden and Madden Girl styles for women, kids and men will be half off, too.

Bombas: Now through Nov. 30, shoppers can save 20 percent on any Bombas sock order online. On Giving Tuesday, Bombas will be giving away one of its Giving Trips, and four runners-up will win 250 pairs of socks to be donated to a charity of their choice.

Bucket Feet: From Black Friday, Nov. 27, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 30, Bucket Feet is offering 35 percent off site-wide at BucketFeet.com, including free shipping for orders over $45.

Chinese Laundry: Online for Black Friday, Nov. 27, the site is 30 percent off until 1pm. Then it will be 25 percent off a purchase the rest of the day. On Monday, Nov. 30., the entire Chinese Laundry site will be 30 percent off.

Dick’s Sporting Goods: The athletic store will open on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m. and remain open until 2 a.m. The stores will reopen at 5 a.m. on Black Friday and remain open until 10 p.m. Apparel and products from brands such as The North Face, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and Reebok will be available at 25 percent (or more) off regular prices. Golf items, wearable fitness technology and other giftable items will be on sale as well. Starting Nov. 12, all orders online will be eligible for free shipping during the holidays. Stores are also giving away gift cards as a doorbuster for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

DSW: In-stores and online DSW will offer 30 percent off every purchase of two or more pairs of shoes.

Dune London: British brand Dune is offering shoppers 30 percent off their purchase on Black Friday, both online and in-store.

Kenneth Cole: In-store shoppers will save 30 percent on their entire purchase from Black Friday, Nov. 27, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 30. Online during Black Friday, shoppers will get half off and free shipping. Saturday Nov. 28 and Sunday Nov. 29, the entire Kenneth Cole website will be 40 percent off. On Cyber Monday, Nov. 30, the site will be half off and offer free shipping.

Kohl’s is giving shoppers $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 they spend in-store from Nov. 23 to 29. In addition to heavily promoting its licensed brands and Star Wars and Marvel products, Kohl’s will promote deals on fitness and health brands such as Nike, Adidas, Gaiam, Columbia, Champion, Tek Gear, and Fila Sport.

Loeffler Randall: Online shoppers will save an additional 15 percent from Black Friday through the weekend, and on Cyber Monday they will receive 20 percent off sale items.

Macy’s: Starting at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, most Macy’s stores will be open and offering Black Friday deals. A mix of apparel, home goods and accessories are included in the doorbusters. Rampage, Style&Co. and Seven Dial boots will be $19.99. Starting Nov. 16, customers can create a shoppable list of deals online at macys.com/blackfriday. The retailer is also holding a $1 million giveaway in stores. Women’s boots and booties will be half off on Black Friday. Men’s boots by Weatherproof and Nautica will be half off as well.

New Balance: From Nov. 26 through Nov. 29, New Balance will offer shoppers 15 percent off their orders online, with free shipping. In stores, shoppers will receive 20 percent off their purchases.

Oliberte: On Black Friday, Nov. 27, and Cyber Monday, Nov. 30, the shoe brand is offering 20 percent off online.

Original Penguin: In-store on Black Friday Nov, 27 full price items will be reduced 40 to 60 percent.

Palladium: The boot brand will offer a variety of deals from Black Friday, Nov. 27, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 30, with a scratch-off game giving shoppers different levels of savings.

Plae: The kids’ brand will be offering up to 40 percent off many of its styles online from Black Friday, Nov. 27, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 30.

REI announced that it will be closed for business on Black Friday.

Sanuk: From Nov. 26 through Nov. 29, the more shoppers buy, the more they save. For orders over $110, shoppers will save 25 percent. On Cyber Monday, there will be 25 percent off select styles online and free two-day shipping.

Teva: On Black Friday, Teva will offer 30 percent off all boots, starting at midnight PST and ending at 11:59 p.m. PST on Nov. 27.

Walmart: For the first time ever, the retailer is putting most of its Black Friday deals online, too. The stores will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and deals will be available online at 12:01 a.m. PST on Thanksgiving morning. Wearable technology will be on sale — the Fitbit Flex will be on sale for $59.
