Gucci Unveils Redesigned Website In North America

Over the weekend, Gucci revealed its redesigned website, devised under the direction of the label’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, who replaced Frida Giannini in early 2015.

The site features large imagery and an editorial-style display of the Italian fashion house’s latest collections. A new section was added to the site, called “The Agenda,” which explains the inspiration and process behind the collections.

Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri told Women’s Wear Daily that the brand hopes to highlight Michele’s vision in a clearer way for the consumer. Bizzarri said the site allows Gucci “to emphasize the emotions, details and the things [Michele] likes.”

Bizzarri was appointed CEO after the departure of Giannini and then-CEO Patrizio di Marco from the house. He quickly chose Michele as Giannini’s successor. Bizzarri emphasized to WWD the importance of connecting with the customer in the luxury market.

The site has sections dedicated to men’s, women’s and children’s shoes, with plenty of large photos of each style. There is also a “Wear With” feature that allows customers to shop an entire look from top to bottom.
