October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Lord & Taylor is kicking things off with a special charity day on Oct. 3 in every Lord & Taylor store nationwide.
If shoppers purchase a $5 ticket, they’ll receive two coupons for 30 percent off a single item, one coupon for 20 percent storewide and 10 percent off cosmetics and fragrances. Stores will be open 9am-11pm and customers can purchase tickets in store through Oct. 3.
Proceeds from the ticket will benefit local cancer charities. There will also be a special fashion presentation honoring cancer survivors—details vary based on the store.
For those who can’t make it to the store but still want to do some good, Lord & Taylor is offering 25 percent off online purchases of $200 or more or 20 percent off online purchases up to $199.99. One percent of the net proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Lord & Taylor will also be having more events this fall as part of its “Shop Smart Do Good” program. The ticketed events feature a range of discounts and benefit local non-profit organizations. Upcoming events are being held in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Connecticut.

Other brands and retailers will no doubt join in with promotions and special products, particularly in October. Asics released special edition sneakers that benefit different cancer charities each month from September to November. In October, the sales will go towards breast cancer awareness charities.
