Macy’s Backstage Debuts in New York

Macy’s announced that its new off-price retail concept, Macy’s Backstage, will open six new stores in the New York area. Three locations opened today, in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn; Elmhurst, Queens; and Melville, Long Island. A fourth store will open Sept. 19 in New Hyde Park, Long Island. Two stores, one in New Jersey and one in the Bronx, will open later this this fall. The stores will range from 25,000 to 35,000 square feet.

Frye & Kate Spade Prep for Roosevelt Field Opening

Roosevelt Field is nearing the end of its major redevelopment under Simon Property Group. The former Long Island airfield will be a full-scale shopping center this fall, anchored by Nieman Marcus, which opens in February 2016. In September, The Frye Company and Kate Spade will open shops, followed by Allen Edmonds in November. Other stores include Jo Malone London, Furla and Jonathan Adler.

Two Sole Sisters Expands in Colorado

Two Sole Sisters, a women’s footwear and accessories boutique in Boulder, Colo., has opened a second location, in Denver’s Washington Park area, at 1078 South Gaylord St. Store owners and sisters Lauren and Lindsey Tate, natives of Texas, feature a range of designer brands that include Pantanetti, André Assous, Chie Mihara and Corso Como. There’s also a selection of trend-driven comfort brands, including Cordani, Cydwoq and Trippen.
