Zappos To Offer Free Pet Adoptions During Black Friday Weekend

Amid the Black Friday shopping frenzy next weekend, Zappos will launch a campaign, “Home for the Pawlidayz,” to help find families for animals in need.

From Nov. 27-30, the online retailer will sponsor the cost of adoption fees for dogs and cats through Best Friends Animal Society, along with more than 100 of the organization’s No More Homeless Pets Network partners. For every adoption during those four days, Zappos will donate an additional $150 to Best Friends to help cover the cost of food, medical care, immunizations, training and more for shelter animals. A maximum donation of $1.1 million will be made.

“Zappos is thrilled to provide homes for animals through Best Friends this holiday season,” said Steven Bautista, head of karma at Zappos.com. “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of a loving home, and we’re excited to give customers the ability to make a difference.”

Watch on FN

Zappos is no stranger to giving back during the busy holiday shopping season. Last year, the company donated 10 meals for every order placed on its website in partnership with Feeding America. The initiative, dubbed Fast, Free Giving, alleviated hunger in local communities across the country.
