Adidas Originals Expands Its Collab With White Mountaineering

Adidas is continuing to up its fashion stakes. Today, the Germany-based company said it will expand its existing collaboration with Japanese fashion brand White Mountaineering.

The two companies partnered on footwear this year for both spring and fall. Now, the businesses have added an apparel co-collection for spring ’16.

The beefed-up offering was unveiled during spring ’16 Paris Men’s Fashion Week, alongside White Mountaineering founder Yosuke Aizawa’s main line.

“The limited color options are inspired by uniforms — they remind me of chambray,” Aizawa said in a statement. “The color-blocking and the triangle piece on the back of the apparel and the footwear’s heel-patch area is a collaboration signoff and nods to the detailing of White Mountaineering’s main line.”

The capsule collection includes a total of 26 apparel items, from jackets and shorts to cardigans and leggings. Each item displays Adidas’ three-stripe logo.

The companies said the looks stem from Adidas’ archives, though each style was “reinterpreted and updated by White Mountaineering.”

The shoes will focus on five Adidas styles: BW Army, Supergrip, ZX 500 HI, Formel 1 and Energy Boost.
