In Her Shoes: Stacey Griffith’s Go-To Kicks This Week

This week, FN’s sneaker columnist, Stacey Griffith, senior master instructor at SoulCycle, opts for an exclusive collaboration shoe:

“You know I love a good New Balance shoe, so I just about died when my sneakerhead friend texted me a photo of this collaboration style.

The Concepts x New Balance 997 is a comfort-meets-design love affair. The thick Encap sole provides ultimate stability for my people with knee or back issues. The overall comfort of this shoe almost takes over its sleek design, but doesn’t. This shoe is sleek, indeed, stacked with all kinds of stitching detail, and I love how the orange-on-orange suede meets the grooved rubber heel cub.

The white-and-grey mosaic bottom is a nice touch, while giving an extra inch of height for any shorties. Plus, it kind of resembles the PSA airplanes from the 1970s. If you happen to be rocking a J.Crew suit with a pair of New Balance kicks, you’re on the right track. You’ll look cool, but could also kick it into high gear if someone needs you to break out into a full sprint for some reason.

This is by far the best New Balance collaboration yet! Bravo!”
