Converse x Missoni Release New Limited-Edition Collaboration

Converse announced today that it’s releasing a limited-edition collection in collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni. The two styles that have been reimagined are the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 and the Converse Chuck Taylor Deck Star.

Debuting on the Milan runway, this summer ’15 collaboration draws inspiration from the men’s collection Missoni showed for spring ’15, “drawing references from the urban surfer as he travels along the Southern European and North African coastline,” commented Converse.

For those who have been tracking Converse’s collaborations with Missoni, the aesthetic differences in these new styles are immediately apparent. Branching away from the more traditional Missoni zig-zag patterns on canvas seen in previous collections, the new styles have reintroduced the toweling effect, a trademark of Missoni’s loom knits.

White midsoles and toe caps are offset by Missoni’s signature terracotta canvas inner sole.

Converse, known for its array of collaborations, also launched Andy Warhol and Comme de Garçons collections earlier this year.

The two styles will be available for purchase July 17 at the Converse flagship stores in NYC and San Francisco, along with select retailers worldwide. They will retail for $200 USD.
