Givenchy‘s spring ’16 women’s shoes, shown during the label’s first-ever New York Fashion Week presentation, garnered major industry buzz when they came down the runway—and now we have a closer look at the unique styles.
Part stiletto, part bootie and part brogue, the runway footwear is the latest hybrid from the mind of creative director Riccardo Tisci. The style comes in four colorways, including black lace, white lace, metallic silver, and a black and white combination.
The booties will be available in both a mule and slingback style. All uppers are elongated and formed into a square shape, and finished with hook lacing.
In keeping with Givenchy’s dichotomy of the old and the new, some of the styles are also finished with a more classic lace toe shaft, while others comes in a more revealing mesh. Subtle detailing, like embossed leathers or broguing perforation, add its signature luxe finishing touch.

While eye-catching indeed, we recommend test driving the shoes in-store before making the purchase. The exaggerated uppers risk the chance of rubbing against the ankle and causing cuts (or, you could wear with socks, of course).
