Gucci‘s spring ’16 women’s collection garnered major buzz for its ethereal, vintage-meets-geeky aesthetic—and now we have a closer look at the show-stopping shoes.
Creative director Alessandro Michele infused fantasy elements into the ready-to-wear, an inspiration that extended down into the shoes. The most talked about style were the mule sandals, which had snake coil detailing on its block heels.

Finished with a criss-cross upper, the mules came in a stitched tapestry fabric or solid leather, which was shaped into a leaf with gold piping. Another mule style had sequined ruffling cover the foot.
The snake coil design—perfect for those who love slithering amongst a party crowd—was added onto pebbled heels, which were studded and painted.
No pricing has been released yet, but one can assume they won’t be a steal.

The ornate detailing carried on inside the shoe. The soles were given some attention as well, with leathers printed in a floral motif, or etched with lip and heart shapes.
Other styles from spring included stacked platforms with gold lion embellishments, or embroidered ballet flats with pearl-encrusted heels.
