Paris Fashion Week: Aquazzura’s Edgardo Osorio On Label’s Next Chapter

In just four years, Aquazzura‘s Edgardo Osorio has built a booming business, thanks to his sexy styles that have resonated with consumers globally. Now, he is taking his collection to new heights – literally.

During his Paris Fashion Week presentation this weekend, Osorio said he developed this season’s bigger, more diverse assortment after gaining insight from his best customers. “I started following my girls on Instagram and really looking at their lifestyles. I want to dress her in every moment of her life,” he said. “She can be at the Oscars one day, then skiing in Aspen and then at Coachella. She travels like crazy.”

His findings encouraged him to delve into new categories: The collection features everything from his version of the iconic moon boot to Timberland-inspired styles to thigh-high boots and variety of evening looks incorporating embellishments like mink and feathers.

Platforms also are a growing part of the collection, part of Osorio’s effort to target women who want the extra height.

The label expands as Osorio preps to open his second store this year. After unveiling elegant digs in Florence – his hometown – he is setting up in London’s Mayfair area this spring.

Aquazzura also is hiring more executive talent to drive the business. The brand recently tapped Jean-Michel Vigneau, former CFO of Pucci, as its new CEO. Cyrille Callari, former COO of Pucci, was named COO.
