Rochas’ Spring 2016 Shoe Collection Features Patisserie-Hued Styles

Confectionary footwear reigned supreme at Rochas for spring ’16.

Sheer lace patisserie-hued pumps in shades of pistachio, peach and licorice matched designer Alessandro Dell ‘Acqua’s preference for scene-stealing runway shoes. With a low tapered kitten heel and pert pointed toe, they had the retro lines of the 1950s. What at first appeared to be an additional spurt of lace at the vamp were actually mini masks that called to mind a Venetian masquerade ball. It was a clever touch and added a novel element of surprise. The same idea was also applied to curvy stiletto sandals.

Off the runway, the collection was flushed out with various takes on lace footwear. A flat winkle picker boot was particularly winning and also shown in blush patent. With a mid-calf rise, they also had a modish mid-century swing to them.

Dell ‘Acqua also offered another take on the masked motifs with ornate beaded eye coverings added as embellishment on sweet sling backs. Rochas must strongly believe in this style, as it was shown on six different heel heights ranging from a flat sandal to a flatform.

Beaded Moroccan slides rounded out the collection were just the thing to slip into after partying into the wee hours in all manner of heel and pump.
