Roger Vivier shook up its uptown lady reputation for spring ’16 with a diverse collection full of new propositions for the house. “I wanted to imagine what a Vivier sneaker could be like, what elements it would need to still have to be us,” said Bruno Frisoni on the new Sneaky Viv slip-on styles, finished with an outsize brand buckle done in crystal. In tuxedo silk satins, they could be white-tie appropriate even despite the casual gum sole.

On the more spindly side of things, there was the Sin, a very vertiginous stiletto. “I took it to the max,” said Frisoni. “This is the thinnest stiletto heel we’ve ever done.” Indeed, it had a certain dainty precariousness that worked on pumps and booties.
For the other end of the spectrum, the collection’s ’70s side was touched on with Cube platform sandals. Here is where it seemed Frisoni really lost his inhibitions, covering various versions in suede and Python flora patchwork and punchy prints.
