Sophia Webster’s signature styles have been sprinkled with a bit of Barbie flair. The label is launching a line of shoes inspired by Barbie offered for both adults and children. Webster’s signature styles, including her Chiara butterfly stiletto sandals, have been updated with pink hues and fun Barbie sayings.
“Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting and deeply personal,” said Webster. “I love that this concept strikes a balance between dreams and reality—the idea of getting Barbie in some hi-tops and setting her loose in East London instantly appealed.”

This summer it was announced that Barbie would wear flats for the first time. Twenty-three dolls are being introduced in an array of flat styles.
When Footwear News asked Webster in a recent interview what her favorite toy was when she was a child she said, “I’ve always loved Barbie.”
Senior Vice President and global brand general manager Evelyn Mazzocco said, “Sophia has brilliantly captured Barbie’s spirit with an imaginative collaboration of flats and heels that allow girls of all ages to express themselves though Barbie and of course, great fashion.”
There will also be a Barbie by Sophia Webster doll, which wears the Riko high-top glitter sneakers. Webster’s Speechbubble flat sandals for girls say “Barbie Girl” while the adult version says “Barbie Doll.”
The collection is available in Selfridges London, Selfridges Manchester, On Pedder in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta and Beijing, Level Shoe District in Dubai and on Selfridges and Sophia Webster ecommerce sites.
