Editor’s Pick: Standout Shoes From Paris Fashion Week

After a whirlwind spring ’16 season in New York, London and Milan, you’d think by the time I hit Paris Fashion Week that footwear fatigue might have set in. Au contraire.

What originally began as an effort to quit contorting my body in an attempt to shoot the shoes stood out to be most in each collection, soon took on a life of it’s own: the #MLHpickmeup. This manhandling of the shoes seemed to strike some designers as odd, sure, but then again, I find it strange how many of them show in dimly or harshly lit spaces with reflective surfaces galore. In these Insta-times, I had to make it work and get the shot.

“Tabitha’s collection looked lovely this season, especially if you are into florals. Lace is more my speed though, especially in unexpected underwear-white. Would make a pretty wedding shoe too.”

Hence, I’m holding the shoes that most caught my eye to give them each a moment to shine. And show off the striking settings in the process.

Click through to see my favorites complete with a little bit of commentary. Now if only these shoes could talk…

“Another shoe I didn’t want to put down: Alexandre Birman’s blush suede bootines, which look right at home at Hotel Le Bristol. The whipstitching was a nice touch too.”
