Rihanna Steps Out In Alexander Wang Hot-Off-The-Runway Fall ’15 Boots

On Tuesday, the Rihanna Navy and the fashion world were oohing and aahing over the singer’s Alexander McQueen tribute (complete with nipple-baring shots and sky-high platform heels) in AnOther magazine, which she posted on Instagram.

Out on the street, however, the Bajan star was honoring another Alexander and his platforms. In between official New York Fashion Week shows and festivities, Rihanna was photographed getting out of a car in a pair of Alexander Wang platform boots.

They weren’t just brand-new; they were our first glimpse of Alexander Wang’s Fall ’15 collection off the runway. With her two sweatshirts, a pair of leggings, and a puffy jacket, Rihanna’s copper platform lug-soles were much more a take on the Timberland trend than the all-black punk throwbacks seen on Wang’s catwalk over the weekend. But those giant soles and metal lace hooks are unmistakably from the same designer. The 26-year-old demonstrated how to strut in the towering shoes over New York City’s treacherously icy sidewalks.

Rihanna has been making her mark all week in the front rows of fashion shows. On Thursday, she sat next to Wang for the Adidas Originals x Kanye West Yeezy Season 1 debut. She attended the Fendi flagship store opening on Friday, and she was elegantly styled for Zac Posen on Monday.

The weekend was a different brand of fashion show altogether as she strutted to her court-side seats at the NBA All-Star events on Saturday and Sunday.

The pop star has plenty of reason to be keeping a close eye on fashion trends for this year: Hot on the heels of her release of “FourFiveSeconds,” featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney, West revealed that he’s executive-producing her album, R8, dropping later this year. Other collaborators may include Florence + the Machine, Nicki Minaj, and Ne-Yo.

All of which means RiRi will be gracing stages, TV studios, and red carpets all year long, in fashions that are sure to be noteworthy.
