Riccardo Tisci’s resort ’16 collection for Givenchy featured the designer’s signature experimental footwear silhouettes. Pin-thin metal heels — something Givenchy regularly offers — were used on pointy cap-toe pumps. The severity of the heel offset the daintier, pretty shapes.
Though the sight of such a thin heel may have customers running in the other direction, especially considering the recent platform-and-sturdy-block-heel craze, the metal pins featured two wooden blocks — one at the bottom and one at the top — to ease the pressure on the foot and add support.
Cap toes on leather pumps were done in pastel colorways of pale pink or mint green. A black-and-white lace style featured a stark white cap toe.

In addition to the contrasting hues, the pumps were done in allover colorways, including a gold metallic or black with metallic speckles.
Double-strap sandals were also included in the collection — it is resort, after all — but the feminine straps with the chunky heel detail somehow didn’t jive.
