Topshop Taps Ciara As U.S. Brand Ambassador

On Thursday, U.K.-based retailer Topshop announced that R&B singer Ciara will be its new brand ambassador for Topshop USA.

Ciara posted a photo on Instagram with Sir Philip Green, chairman of Arcadia Group, which owns Topshop and other U.K. brands such as Miss Selfridge, Burton Menswear, and Dorothy Perkins.

The announcement was made in London at the Fashion Retail Academy’s 10th anniversary awards ceremony. Ciara was on hand to present an Outstanding Alumni Award.

She wore a sleek black leather kimono by Topshop and Paul Andrew Matrix sandals in matte black python.

The singer’s boyfriend, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, took to Twitter to congratulate her.

“Congrats!” he wrote. “@Topshop couldn’t pick a more dynamic woman!”

In November 2014, Topshop opened its second location in New York City on Fifth Avenue, the brand’s second-largest flagship in the world behind the London Oxford Circus location, which gets more than 250,000 visitors a week, according to the brand.

In addition to apparel and accessories, Topshop offers a wide range of shoe styles, from heels to sandals to booties to sneakers, all priced under $280. No details yet on what Ciara’s new role will entail, but we can only imagine there will be plenty of the brand’s trendy footwear involved.
