Julianne Moore Wins Oscar for Best Actress, Wears Chanel Couture

Julianne Moore, wearing custom Chanel Haute Couture, won the Oscar for Best Actress at the 2015 Academy Awards.

Top shoe designers, including Manolo Blahnik and Stuart Weitzman, recently cast their votes for Moore, who was widely expected to come out on top. “She is a fabulous actress and looks good in anything,” Blahnik told FN. Weitzman added, “I began to feel empathy for Julianne… as she played her part so realistically.”

The star — who has been nominated four times before — won for her role in “Still Alice,” the gripping story of a college professor, Alice Howland, who learns that she is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Moore has certainly been on a roll this season. At the Golden Globes, she wore head-to-toe Givenchy Couture when she took to the stage to pick up the best actress award.

Moore chose Givenchy Couture again for the SAG awards, while she donned Saint Laurent for the Critics’ Choice Awards. (She won best actress at both those events, too.) She scored again at the BAFTAs earlier this month and chose Tom Ford for that occasion.

Just last night at The Independent Spirit Awards, the actress stunned in a metallic 3D floral number from the the Christian Dior Couture spring ’15 collection, pairing it with black platform sandals.

While she has stayed loyal to the major fashion houses for much of the awards season, Moore also has embraced emerging footwear names such as Aquazzura for “Still Alice” screenings and other events.

And in between collecting all of her accolades, Moore fit in an appearance at New York Fashion Week. She sat front row at Hugo Boss with actress Dakota Johnson. Moore was also on hand for Ford’s star-studded Los Angeles fashion show on Friday night, sitting front row alongside Beyonce and Jay Z, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and many more.

Other best actress nominees at the Oscars included Marion Cotillard, who wore head-to-toe Christian Dior Couture; Reese Witherspoon, who donned Jimmy Choo platforms under her ice blue Tom Ford gown with a black velvet border; Rosamund Pike, who paired her strapless red Givenchy Couture number with matching ankle-strap sandals; and Felicity Jones, who wore Brian Atwood under her Alexander McQueen dress.
