Madonna is the latest celebrity to hop on the Alexander Wang train.
There always seems to be a must-have statement shoe after New York Fashion Week, and it’s looking like that this year’s is Wang’s larger-than-life platform clompers.
The designer showed the thick lug-sole combat boots on the runway for his fall ’15 collection, sending the fashion community into a tizzy of lovers and haters.
Madonna took to Instagram to show her support, declaring that the shoe was “everything” and she was “#livingforshoes,” a nice play on her new single, “Living for Love.”
Another bold lady, Rihanna, was spotted sporting the look last week.
Wang’s mega-boots weren’t the only ones getting buzz on Instagram this week. Milan Fashion Week kicked off Tuesday in the shoe capital of the world.
Gucci’s women’s collection captured attention by sending some very hairy loafers down the runway. They might turn out to be the Wangs of Milan, though there are plenty of other designers whose collections are still to hit the runway. The woolly-mommoth style was, at the very least, a major departure from the seriousness of the house’s past seasons and kicked off new designer Alessandro Michele’s tenure with a bang.

Jimmy Choo and Versace also gave sneaks peeks at their fall lines on social media. Versace showed off architectural high heels, while Jimmy Choo took followers inside its elaborate presentation.
