‘Sex and the City’: Carrie Bradshaw’s Best Shoes

Sure, we all associate those cobalt-blue satin Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps with Carrie Bradshaw. She was, after all, proposed to with them in place of a diamond ring. Come to think of it, we associate her with Jimmy Choo, Brian Atwood’s sky-high pumps, and, of course, Dior’s gladiator sandals.

During the show’s six-year run, Sarah Jessica Parker was dressed in an often (at the time) unconventional wardrobe, a quirky mix of high-end designer pieces, high-street fashion and, of course, meticulously curated vintage —all thanks to costume designer Patricia Field. Field saw the potential in the character and ran with it, taking advantage of Parker’s ability to pull off almost anything she was given, and always, always, adding an ideal selection of accessories.

The series was an instant hit, catapulting its stars into the spotlight and tackling modern issues of sexuality, relationships, love and career. Perhaps slightly less expected, however, was the phenomenal impact the show’s fashions had on both consumers and the industry.

There are countless articles, shows, books and social media accounts dedicated to “Sex and the City” fashions — and rightly so, given the influence it had. A quick Google search of “‘Sex and the City’ fashion” currently returns more than 336 million results.

So, aside from the more famous pairs that the shoe-loving columnist character is known for, we decided to round up some of her other memorable moments.

From running in the rain outside the Guggenheim to falling in the lake with Big, take a look at what Carrie Bradshaw had on her feet.
