What shoes does one wear mountainside in the Swiss Alps? A glide through Instagram this weekend and the answer became obvious rather quickly: Jimmy Choo‘s massive Moon Boots, tricked out in shearling and reflective metallics.
Worn with ski jackets, Nordic knits, skinny jeans or even leather snow pants (nicely done, Catherine Baba) this was mountainside style at its best. It was especially pleasing to see since North America hasn’t seen a real delivery of the white stuff — and need for winter boots — yet this season.
The brand partnered with international members’-only social club A Small World on an alpine-chic weekend at the Gstaad Palace Hotel and 5 * Grand Hotel. The guest list befitted the posh surroundings, including Jimmy Choo’s Sandra Choi and Pierre Denis, actor Adrien Brody, singer Alison Mosshart, jeweler/actor Waris Ahluwalia, model Anna Cleveland, DJs Leigh Lezark and Chelsea Leyland, actor Mamie Gummer and Jeanne Damas, aka The French Alexa Chung.

After ski and sledding adventures (on custom gold Jimmy Choo toboggans, no less) with prerequisite fondue breaks in between, this glacial glitterati also got suited and booted (or stiletto’d) for Asmallworld Foundation’s black-tie gala. This year, the event raised funds for The Amal Project, which works with child refugees in Jordan, and was hosted by ASW’s Sabine Heller and Patrick Liotard Vogt.
