Paul Andrew, Brian Atwood Create Custom Bridal Shoes For A Glamorous Wedding

For her weekend nuptials, Toronto and New York-based fashion plate Stacey Jordan didn’t just wear a series of white custom bridal shoes by the likes of Paul Andrew and Brian Atwood. She also had them as guests at her St Barth’s wedding to Lookbooks Media founder Ryan Cook.

Jordan documented all of the elements of her glitzy gathering, right down to her very special footwear. Here, Brian Atwood buckles her into her strappy heels before her walk down the aisle in a custom Atelier Versace gown.

A closer look at the interwoven open-toe style.

In the days leading up to the wedding, Jordan also took a turn in another pair of white stilettos by Atwood, a friend of the bride, which he also shared on his Instagram.

For the reception and dancing, Jordan switched into a lace dress by Adam Lippes and a pair of Paul Andrew Swarovski crystal-heeled satin Orbit slingbacks, which were also customized by the designer just for her.

We caught up with a honeymooning Jordan to get the full wedded-bliss shoe scoop:

What’s the story behind your wedding shoes?

“Well with Brian, he met me in Milan for the fitting at Versace Atelier. That moment inspired the shoes. The team of six that worked on the dress for two months stood around it and the amount of time and emotion that they put into it brought us all to tears. Considering the dress weighed 100 pounds and was very structural on the back, Brian knew that it needed a delicate but, very supportive single soled shoe that lifted me up but also kept me in touch with the ground. We then walked together pretending he was Ryan to feel the movement of the dress.”

What other pairs did you wear for the festivities?

“[Atwood] and I discussed all the different outfits that would be worn over the four days of events in St Barths. From there, he made me four pairs of custom shoes that are so beautiful and delicate. They made every outfit look incredibly special.”

What about your Paul Andrew stilettos?

“Paul sent me a note offering to make me some beautiful shoes for the wedding. He then sent me all of his looks and asked me if there was any that I think would work with any of the outfits that I would be wearing. I thought about the dress that Adam Lippes would be making for the reception and saw the perfect satin diamond heel embellished shoes that he had in his collection. Paul matched these shoes and on the wedding evening I danced the night away in them. The other pair of shoes that Paul made for me I wore to the welcome cocktail party. They went perfectly with the Rosie Assouline dress and with the solid heel he chose allowed me to be poolside no problem.”

How did you feel in your fanciful footwear?

“I had some very happy toes all week long.”
