Top 2015 NBA Draft Pick to Play With Adidas-Sponsored Andrew Wiggins

Adidas-sponsored Andrew Wiggins, the first overall draft pick in the 2014 NBA draft, will soon have a fellow first overall draft pick to hit the court with. His team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, landed the first pick in the 2015 draft in the league’s draft lottery Tuesday night.

The Timberwolves have a solid group of college standouts to choose from, including Kentucky forward Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor of the NCAA Champion Duke Blue Devils, Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell and 19-year-old guard Emmanuel Mudiay, who opted to play professional basketball in China instead of a college this past season.

Mudiay will go into the draft already having an endorsement deal with Under Armour. The guard signed with Baltimore-based brand in September 2014, months after informing Southern Methodist University that he will play for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China instead of the college.

Wiggins, the 2014-15 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, was selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014 NBA Draft, but was part of a trade package for Kevin Love. The trade sent Wiggins to Minnesota along with the first overall draft pick in the 2013 draft Anthony Bennett and Thaddeus Young.

To commemorate his Rookie of the Year honors, Adidas released a limited edition Crazylight Boost 2015 for the Canadian-born star baller. The shoe, playing homage to his home country Canada, is adorned with maple leaves in the colors of his high school team (Huntington Prep in West Virginia), his college team (Kansas Jayhawks), and the Timberwolves.

Duke Guard Tyus Jones was in attendance for the draft lottery, held at the New York Hilton Midtown, and was spotted earlier at Foot Locker on 34th Street shopping for shoes while wearing the Air Jordan 11 Low Bred.
