Adidas’ Andrew Wiggins Road Crazylight Boost 2015 Drops Friday

Although the regular season doesn’t begin for the 2014 NBA Draft first overall pick Andrew Wiggins and the Minnesota Timberwolves for two months, Adidas is set to release the road edition of the 2015 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year’s shoe, the Crazylight Boost 2015.

The shoe will be released Friday and will retail for $130.

The shoe features a blue-and-black upper that uses the Germany-based brand’s Primeknit material. The outsole is predominantly black with a blue and white speckled pattern, with white near its heel. The shoe also features a black icy translucent sole. Wiggins’ Canadian roots are also celebrated in the style, with his “AW” logo adorning its collar and featuring a maple leaf in the center of the “A.”

The Crazylight Boost 2015 is also the brand’s most innovative basketball shoe yet, with greater responsiveness and energy return and 13 percent more Boost cushioning than in its past basketball silhouettes.

The brand released a limited-edition version of the Crazylight Boost 2015 for Wiggins in May to commemorate the forward winning the Rookie of the Year award. That shoe featured maple leaves in the colors of Wiggins’ high school team, Huntington Prep in West Virginia; his college ten, the Kansas Jayhawks; and the Timberwolves.

The forward averaged 16.9 points, 2.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game in his rookie season. In addition to being the league’s Rookie of the Year, Wiggins was named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star weekend, scoring 22 points for the World team in its 121-112 win over the U.S. squad.
