Adidas Surprises Kris Bryant With A Truckload Of Shoes

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was named Rookie of the Year at the end of this season, and Adidas is acknowledging the honor in a big way.

The athletic brand arrived in Bryant’s home town of Las Vegas in a truck emblazoned with “Rookie of the Year.” Inside Bryant’s old batting cage were tons of Adidas shoes stacked up in boxes.

Bryant tweeted, “Thank you to @adidasBaseball for the gear! I couldn’t have done this without the support of Chicago though.”

The Cubs called up Bryant to the majors in April after playing on the team’s minor league team, the Daytona Cubs. He played in both the All-Star game and Homerun Derby.

In appreciation of his new hometown of Chicago, Adidas and Bryant are planning to surprise a Chicago-area high school with a truckload of sheos and equipment in the coming months.

Adidas also delivered Houston Rockets guard James Harden a truckload of sneakers in October. Harden’s 13-year $200 million deal with the brand kicked in on October 1.
