Adidas’ James Harden Spotted Wearing Air Jordans

Although NBA superstar James Harden has signed on to endorse Germany-based athletic brand Adidas, the Houston Rockets guard was recently spotted wearing Air Jordans out in public — a brand owned by Adidas’ competitor, Nike.

How’s that? Well, even though Harden is now an Adidas-sponsored athlete, his deal with the brand doesn’t begin until Oct. 1.

According to multiple reports, Harden was spotted in Air Jordan 5s leaving a movie theater with girlfriend Khloe Kardashian after watching “Straight Outta Compton.”

Harden, who’s now on the Houston Rockets after establishing himself as a player to be feared with the Oklahoma City Thunder, signed a 13-year, $200 million contract with Adidas after spending years wearing Nike on the court. His deal with the brand will not only have him in Adidas sneakers during games but off the court as well. When Adidas announced the deal, it said Harden will also play a critical role in creating and developing on- and off-court signature footwear and apparel collections, as well as marketing plans.

The guard was the Kia NBA MVP runner-up last season, finishing second to Under Armour-sponsored Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. Harden averaged 27.4 points, 7 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game last season. He led the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals, falling to the Warriors in five games. In the playoffs, Harden averaged 27.2 points, 7.5 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.
