Adidas Signs 2015 NBA Draft Pick Justise Winslow

Adidas has been busy bolstering its roster of basketball players and releasing new silhouettes for its veteran stable as of late, signing the 2015 Kia NBA MVP runner-up James Harden and releasing new shoes for John Wall and Damian Lillard. Today, the brand announced it has signed the No. 10 overall pick from the 2015 NBA Draft Justise Winslow.

Winslow, now a forward for the Miami Heat, was a member of the 2015 NCAA Champion Duke Blue Devils team, averaging 12.6 points, 2.1 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game for the season.

“We’re moving in a new direction and adding Justise to the young, up-and-coming players who are already part of our team is incredible,” said Chris Grancio, global basketball general manager for Adidas, in a statement. “His speed, instinct, athleticism and passion will no doubt translate to immediate success and we look forward to building a successful future with Justise as he joins our brand.”

Winslow, according to the brand, will play a critical role in the development of basketball footwear and apparel and participate in the brand’s upcoming initiatives that will coincide with the start of the start of the NBA season, including its global brand campaign.

The rookie is now part of the brand’s team of athletes that includes Harden of the Houston Rockets, Wall of the Washington Wizards, Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.

“I loved playing in their basketball shoes at Adidas Nations and what they’ve been doing with Kanye and Originals is changing the game,” Winslow said in a statement. “I pride myself in being the best player on the court and having unique style off it and Adidas will definitely help me do both.”
