Adidas has updated the shoe’s technology to feature 20 percent more Boost cushioning material and a Torsion System for heel-to-forefoot stability. The Stretch Web outsole, made with perforated elastic, is meant to adapt to a range of surfaces, and the sock liner aims to adapt to each individual’s foot.

In June, Adidas announced a partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an organization that launches projects to help protect oceans from their many threats. The brand unveiled an Ultra Boost made with materials that were illegally dumped into the ocean, including plastic and gill netting.

Also in June, the brand released its Ultra Boost Collective by Kris Van Assche, featuring the designer’s signature argyle print.
