Streetwear brand and retailer Alife and athletic brand Asics have teamed up for an NYC-themed collection, paying homage to the upcoming NYC Marathon, with two shoes: a classic running favorite and a current performance runner.
The Alife x Asics Gel-Kayano Trainer and Gel-Kayano 22 will be available Oct. 30 at the Alife NYC location and on its e-commerce website, aliferivingtonclub.com. Retail prices for the shoes have not yet been released.
The Gel-Kayano Trainer features a perforated pigskin and mesh with reflective 3M accents and underlay. The Gel-Kayano 22 boasts the brand’s seamless FluidFit upper with reflective 3M accents and underlay. Both shoes use gray mesh for the uppers; a red, white and blue midsole; and a classic gum outsole.

In addition to the shoes, the collaboration will feature the Storm Shelter Jacket, French Terry Crewneck, French Terry Cut Off Shorts, Thermopolis LT Tight, and four different Asics Tech T-shirts.
Asics, one of the sponsors of the NYC Marathon, has a collection of shoes dedicated to the race, featuring three of its top performance shoes adorned in graffiti for men and women – the Gel-Quantum 360, the Gel-Nimbus 17 and the Gel-Kayano 22.
The NYC Marathon will take place on Nov. 6.
