Brooks Collabs With Concepts For Beast 1 Voodoo Release

Cambridge, Mass.-based boutique retailer Concepts has been behind some of the year’s best sneaker collaborations. This weekend, sneakerheads can grab another collab the retailer is behind — this time, on a Brooks Heritage silhouette.

The limited-edition Brooks Heritage x Concepts Beast 1 Voodoo drops Saturday and will retail for $150. The shoe will be available at the retailer’s Cambridge location as well as select retailers overseas.

The collaboration, an attempt to reintroduce the silhouette to the masses, marks the first time the brand’s Beast 1 shoe has been available since its original 1993 release. The sneaker’s colorway is inspired by the palette that was prominently used in the 1960s Seattle art and music scene. The shoes also feature psychedelic insoles that mirror the Concepts-branded box. Keeping with the shoe’s classic look are the materials used, including reflective 3M overlays, suede, nylon and mesh.

Last weekend, Concepts released its collaboration with Diadora, the Lira, using the brand’s N.9000 silhouette, which is available at Concepts’ Cambridge location and select retailers overseas.

Prior to the collaboration with Diadora, the retailer worked with New Balance in July on its NB 575 silhouette for the M80, an Independence Day-themed shoe, and in June with Nike on the SB Grail Collection, using three of the brand’s popular skateboard silhouettes — the SB Janoski Max, the SB Dunk High and the SB Dunk Low.
