Under Armour’s Cam Newton Throws Career-Best 5 Touchdowns

Much has been made of Carolina Panthers superstar quarterback Cam Newton’s end-zone dances of late, and while the acceptability of his antics after a touchdown is a matter of opinion, one thing is a fact: He’s a winner. Newton proved that again Sunday by throwing a career-best five touchdown passes in the team’s 44-16 beat-down of the Washington Redskins.

The Under Armour-sponsored quarterback hit the field wearing a wildly colorful player’s edition cleat that strayed far from the Panthers’ signature black, blue and silver colors. Newton was 21-34 in the air, passing for 246 yards on the game, ending with a 92.9 QBR. The quarterback was also careful with the football, not throwing a single interception in the game.

The NFC South-leading Panthers are 10-0 on the season and running away from the conference; the next best team in the division is the Atlanta Falcons, with a 6-4 record.

The Newton-led Panthers are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the league; the other is the New England Patriots, led by fellow Under Armour-sponsored quarterback, Tom Brady. The Patriots will defend their unbeaten record at home tonight when they take on their division foe, the Buffalo Bills. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m.
