Foot Locker App Debuts Sneaker Emojis, Lets Users Shop While Mobile

Foot Locker introduced its first free mobile app for iOS and Android today. The app will showcase Shoemoji, a gallery of more than 80 sneaker emoticons.

According to the retailer, the app, enables sneakerheads to talk about their favorite shoes with other sneakerheads using classic and current sneaker images as emojis, similarly to the way people communicate in text messages and other messaging services via popular emojis.

“We know how important phones are in our customers’ lives, and we always want to offer them a premium experience with Foot Locker wherever they may be,” said Stacy Cunningham, EVP of marketing for Foot Locker, in a statement. “We believe the Foot Locker App, along with the introduction of Shoemoji, is another great way for us to provide that experience.”

In addition to Shoemoji, the app will also let users shop, view a sneaker-release calendar, browse a launch locator to see where the shoes they want will be available for purchase, use a store locator to find the nearest Foot Locker location and sign up for the retailer’s VIP loyalty program.
