James Harden And Adidas Debut ‘Creators Never Follow’ Film

“Real talk: be who you are and do what you feel. Always. Because those who mind, don’t matter. And those who matter, don’t mind at all.”

That’s what James Harden proclaims in his first commercial for Adidas since he signed a 13-year, $200 million deal with athletic brand in August. When the pact kicked in on Oct. 1, Adidas delivered a truckload of shoes to the Houston Rockets guard.

The “Creators Never Follow” film encourages athletes (and fans) to define their own path.

“I’m excited about my first commercial campaign with Adidas, and I love that this spot is true to who I am, my style of play and represents how we’re going to disrupt the game,” Harden said. “My story is about being your own person — from how you dress to how you carry yourself. It’s simple: you’ve got to be true and genuine at all times. This campaign is all about that, and is just the beginning of what Adidas and I will do.”

This ad is part of a series that hopes to motivate athletes to trust themselves and challenge the establishment in the game. Recent  spots star Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale, Thomas Müller, Mesut Ozil and NFL stars DeMarco Murray, Jimmy Graham and Sammy Watkins.
