Kith NYC owner Ronnie Fieg has teamed up with Boston-based athletic brand New Balance for the third consecutive Black Friday, this time on a New York City-inspired shoe, Fieg’s longtime home.
The Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 998 will retail for $240 and be available at 6 a.m. at Kith stores and the retailer’s website, kithnyc.com, at 11 a.m.
“The idea of City Never Sleeps is that even in the middle of the night, New York is still bright as day because of its city’s bright lights,” Fieg said in a statement. “The constant endless days is a major factor of the New Yorker’s mentality. People hustle harder here than anywhere else, but our reward is being able to live in arguably the greatest city in the world.”
The New Balance classic silhouette boasts different tones and material executions on the forefoot, saddle and rear. The gradient color-blocking on the shoe moves from blue nubuck on the toe to midnight navy nubuck on the saddle, finishing with solid black pigskin suede on the heel counter. The New Balance branding on the midfoot is white and reflective, an homage to NYC’s bright lights. Both the midsole and outsole are also white.

Other details that stand out include the shoe’s premium leather lining, custom-printed insoles, stamped New Balance branding on the tongue and heel, plus three lace options.
