This isn’t the first time Michael Jordan’s game-worn sneakers have been up for auction, but for those who missed past opportunities,there are now five pairs up for auction on SCP Auctions website.
The lowest starting bid is $1,000 for Jordan’s 1986–87 Air Jordan II Chicago Bulls sneakers. The current bid on the pair is $2,363. SCP says this pair features a “full-length Nike Air cushioned midsole that was revolutionary as it was one of the first basketball shoes that feature a soft mid sole from heel to toe.” Nike Air basketball designer Bruce Kilgore is behind the design for these sneakers.
North Carolina Tar Heels fans will remember Jordan’s Converse All Star white-and-Carolina-blue sneakers. The particular signed pair up for auction is from Jordan’s freshman season at UNC in 1981–82 when he led the team to an NCAA Championship with a game-winning buzzer-beater.
In April, a pair of Nike Air Ship sneakers from Jordan’s rookie season were auctioned off for a whopping $71,554, which according to ESPN, was the second-highest amount paid for a pair of game-worn MJ sneakers.

There’s also a pair of signed Air Jordan XVIII sneakers from Jordan’s highest scoring game—45 points—in 2003 when he played for the Washington Wizards during his second run coming out of retirement against the then-New Orleans Hornets. Jordan owns the now-Charlotte Hornets.
