Mike Conley Returns From Injury in Adidas to Defeat the Warriors

After having surgery to repair fractures around his left eye suffered in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, Adidas-sponsored Mike Conley led his Memphis Grizzlies to a second-round playoff win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, 97-90. The best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1.

Conley — sporting a bloodshot eye underneath a protective face mask — led Memphis in scoring with 22 points in 27 minutes of play.

The guard hit the court in a player’s edition of the Adidas Crazylight Boost 2015, tailored to match the Grizzlies’ colors. The shoe featured a predominantly black upper with blue lining and blue atop the upper, with white and yellow on the outsole.

Conley was drilled with an elbow to the face by Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum in game three of the opening round of the playoffs, causing Conley to miss the final two games of that series and the first game of the second playoff round. He had surgery two days later in, which plates were inserted into his face in the fractured area.
