Retro sneakers are on trend, with everyone from people who wore them as kids to those not alive when the originals came out trying to pick up a pair. Nike has mastered the retro market and is set to reintroduce a pair of silhouettes from 1997, both worn in one of the greatest basketball movies of all time, “He Got Game.”
The Beaverton, Ore.-based athletic giant is releasing the Class of 97 pack on Saturday, featuring the Air Foamposite Pro and the Zoom Hawk Flight, with a retail price of $385.
The Air Foamposite Pro can be spotted on the feet of Jesus Shuttlesworth, the character played by NBA great Ray Allen, when speaking with his father in the film, Jake Shuttlesworth, played by Denzel Washington. The shoe features a predominantly white upper with black making appearances on the tongue, swoosh branding, and carbon fiber shank. The shoe is completed with an icy translucent outsole.
