Nike & Concepts Collaborate On The Grail Collection

Boutique retailer Concepts has teamed up with Nike for the release of its latest collaboration, the SB Grail Collection.

Concepts used three of the brand’s popular skateboard silhouettes — the SB Janoski Max, the SB Dunk High and the SB Dunk Low — for the collection, which will be available at the retailer’s Cambridge, Mass., and New York City locations on Saturday.

Concepts said the idea was to release a collection of the best SB sneakers Nike has released — something that would be sought after by sneakerheads and skaters alike.

The SB Janoski Max Mosaic takes inspiration from mosaic tiling, with the upper featuring faded pastels that replicate the cracking of time-worn mosaics wearing away to reveal the pure-white suede underlay. It also has stained-glass detailing on the footbed and comes packaged in a custom mosaic-printed box.

The SB Dunk High Stained Glass features a stained-glass print using leather with textured, clear overlays that replicate the look of stained glass, with no two prints having the stained-glass design in the same places. The shoe is packaged in a matching custom box.

The SB Dunk Low Grail features an iridescent upper that changes color as light hits it, golden-skull lace locks and a translucent outsole. The Dunk Low is packaged in a silver box with gold accents, but it’s also available in two sets of limited-edition Hyperstriked boxes exclusive to Concepts customers in NYC and Cambridge, with Cambridge limited to 100 cement boxes and 200 wood boxes, and New York limited to 300 wooden boxes.
