Nike LeBron 12 EXT King’s Cork Drops Saturday

Sneakerheads, who appear to have a fascination with any Nike release featuring cork, will soon have another popular silhouette featuring the tree bark to add to their collections.

The LeBron 12 EXT King’s Cork will hit stores Saturday and retail for $250.

The shoe features a cork upper with a black Hyperposite overlay. Other black accents on the shoe’s upper include the heel tab that features the words “King’s Cork” and LeBron James’ signature in red, the sock liner and the signature plate on the tongue (with James’ signature once again in red). Although cork and black make up the majority of the shoe, gold also plays a prominent role, with accents in the swoosh and lace dubrae.

Using cork on shoes became popular with the debut of the LeBron 10 EXT Cork, which was released in 2013. That shoe now sells for $550 to $1,250, depending on the size, at consignment stores such as eBay, the highest asking price for the shoe as of today is $2,000.

Nike has given some of its other popular silhouettes a cork makeover as well, including the Air Force 1 Mid and the Air Max 90, which both hit stores this year.
