Nike Releases Sketches of Kevin Durant’s Next Signature Shoe

Although Kevin Durant spent most of the 2014-15 season sidelined with injuries, to analysts and fans alike, he’s still one of the best players in the NBA. His on-the-court talents, off-the-court persona and alliance with Nike have made his signature shoes some of the most sought-after sneakers on the market.

Now, more KD7 colorways are hitting shelves, and Nike has released sketches of the KD8.

According to the brand, the sneaker — designed by Leo Chang, who designed the celebrated KD7, Hyperdunk 2014 and Kyrie 1 — will be the most technically advanced shoe Nike has created for the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar. Its inspiration? Saber-toothed tigers.

While the sketches have hit the Internet, the brand did not provide a release date or retail-price information for the KD8.

Fans of Durant and Nike won’t have to wait too long for a new shoe from the superstar, though, with the KD7 Elite set for release on Friday, complete with a breathable, lightweight perforated Hyperposite upper in a gym blue, light retro, obsidian and metallic silver colorway. The shoe will retail for $200.
