Nike To Release Kyrie 1 Dungeon On Wednesday

Nike has channeled Kyrie Irving’s past basketball experiences when creating colorway concepts for his first signature shoe, the Kyrie 1. With the release of the next colorway, the brand ventured to a place Irving refers to as “The Dungeon.”

According to the brand, “The Dungeon” is the name Irving gave the basement in his childhood home where he would get his strength and conditioning workouts in at night before heading back to the court the next morning. The basement’s single flickering light bulb gave it an eerie, dark feel, leading to Irving’s nickname.

The shoe features a deep pewter upper with volt appearing on the brand’s swoosh insignia from the midsole to the heel, the shoe’s lining and along the tongue. Also featured on the shoe’s upper is a dark gray jagged pattern near the heel, inspired by the Sydney Opera House in his homeland of Australia. The outsole of the shoe is three shades of gray, with a light and dark combination near the front of the shoe and a dark gray with black speckled pattern towards the rear. Irving’s signature and number appear on the inside of the tongue and on the lining near the heel, respectively.

The shoe will hit stores July 22 and retail for $110.
