With Manny Pacquiao’s May 2 showdown in Las Vegas against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather looming, Nike released a video of its sponsored Filipino boxing superstar preparing for the fight.
The 36-year-old, who has worn Nike in the ring and appeared in Nike ads alongside Kobe Bryant, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer and Cristiano Ronaldo, was shown working out in the daring red, blue graphite and black colorway of the brand’s celebrated training shoe, Free Trainer 5.0 V6.
The eight-division champion boxer, while taking part in an aggressive workout throughout the video, said that for this fight, it’s important to train physically, mentally and spiritually.
“I love to have people around me while I’m training. But you have to prepare your mind, train your mind,” Pacquiao said in the video. “When you focus, you don’t have to worry about, ‘Oh, what am I going to do? Maybe I’m not ready,’ or anything like that. You have peace of mind and you’re ready to fight.”

Since his Nike sponsorship began, the boxing standout has been featured in ads wearing the brand’s latest trainers and had his own releases, including versions of the Lunar TR1+, Air Trainer 1.3 Max and the Lunar Vapor Trainer.
